RUTF is ready-to-use therapeutic food. It’s an energy dense, micronutrient paste made using peanuts, sugar, milk powder, oil, vitamins and minerals that has helped treat millions of children threatened by severe wasting – the most dangerous form of malnutrition. Globally, 1 in 5 deaths among children under age 5 is attributed to severe wasting, making it one of the top threats to child survival.

Super cereal plus

Super Cereal Plus (WSB++) is a fortified Wheat, Soy, Milk blend that is processed and packed in a 1.5 kg sachet. Super Cereal Plus is used to prepare a formulated complementary food in the form of a porridge or gruel that is suitable for infants and young children of 6-59 months. Super Cereal Plus consists of heat treated wheat and dehulled soybeans, milk, sugar, vitamins, and minerals.

F75

F-75 is a milk based powdered therapeutic diet. Reconstituted F-75 milk provides an energy density of approximately 75 kcal/100ml. It is intended for phase 1 (stabilisation) treatment of children with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM).

F100

F-100 therapeutic milk has been specially designed for the nutritional rehabilitation of people suffering from severe acute malnutrition, during phase 2 of the management protocol established by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

Baalvita(MNP)

Baal Vita is a micronutrient powder (MNP) supplement that the Government of Nepal distributes to children between the ages of 6 and 23 months to help fight micronutrient deficiencies and anemia. The program also promotes community-based infant and young child feeding (IYCF). The goal is to reduce chronic malnutrition and stunting in children.It is started from 6 months of age; one sachet is given daily for 60 days. When the child reaches 8 months then there is the gap of 4 months, similarly it is started again after 12 months of age for 60 days, then again there is 4 months gap, when the child reaches 18 months of age then again 60 packets are provided.

MUAC tapes

MUAC tapes are predominately used to measure the upper arm circumference of children but also that of pregnant women, helping identify malnutrition. There are different types of MUAC tape available. It is based on UNICEF guidelines and marked with colors to easily identify thedegree of acute malnutrition, moderate acute malnutrition and the imminent risk of acute malnutrition, Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) measures muscle and fat mass in children, which is an important indicator of their nutritional status.
